Russel Bell's India Report — August 3–September 10, 2007

Dear Supporters and Interested,

God continues to bless our work in India and around the world. This may have been my best trip ever. We continue to emphasize leadership and giving in our lessons. In the next decade we will see hundreds of churches of Christ in India with qualified elders and deacons. They are really excited and trying to accomplish that.

This trip involved two countries, Romania and India. Work went well in both countries. In Romania I worked with several of the churches Harvey Starling has developed. I presented 31 lessons there over two Sundays and doing one on one studies in the daytime. I delivered 49 lessons in India, teaching in 7 different schools of preaching.

I am still trying to get over losing two of the finest workers in India, Gene Reneau and Mike Niehues, both dying in the last nine months. I worked very closely with both these men and considered them two of my closest friends. Their overseeing churches have given me their report mailing lists and I will be sending my report to all of them in hope the support will continue to do the things in India to develop the churches there to self–supporting status, indigenous churches. Mike was providing about $15,000 a year to our India Evangelism projects. We will miss these two great India evangelists.

$80,000.00

With this trip completed, all of these above projects are paid for and delivered. God bless each of one of you individuals and churches who provide the $70,000.00. I wish you could personally hear the words of thanks coming from the churches/preachers who receive these supplies, books, building helps, bicycles, etc. These supplies are so needed, well used, and appreciated. God bless you for giving.

Because the U.S. dollar has lost about 10% of its value in India in the past two years and because we now support 60 children at Patricia's Orphanage instead of 40, we will need to increase our help to $80,000 per year in 2008.

There are now more churches of Christ in India that in the U.S. They are growing in number and depth of maturity. Your donations to this ministry are helping to achieve this. God bless you. We need your help to continue these projects and to make trips. Please make checks payable to India Evangelism or Church of Christ and send to either of the addresses in this letterhead or in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope.

Special thanks to the LaPoynor Church of Christ for overseeing our work. Also special thanks to all the churches and individuals who support me, as well as providing $70,000 for our projects listed. My books “Rightly Dividing the Word of God” volumes I, II, III, IV and V are available at $5 each; and "God Man Money" at $10 per copy, postage paid. All money from book sales go to India Evangelism. Roy Lanier, Sr's book "The Church" was released in Telugu, 10,500 copies in January 2007. This is probably the most important book ever translated, printed, and released in India toward maturing our churches with qualified elders and deacons.

If you have any questions, call or write. God Bless you.

Love,

Russel G. Bell
