The following words were written by Mike Warner, a preacher for the Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler, Texas. I was impressed by the words which I believe are true and worth repeating here.

So Right But All Wrong

"For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"—Matthew 16:26

You went to school and got a good education even when many of your peers were dropping out. You got a good job, worked hard, got promotions, and became a trusted and respected leader in the company.

You got married to a good woman, bought a nice house, had children, and raised them to be good people.

You exercised and ate low-fat foods, for the most part, and took vitamins regularly.

You bought life insurance and medical insurance and auto insurance to cover yourself and your family.

You started a retirement program when you were young and contributed to it faithfully over the years and built up a sizable portfolio.

After you got the kids through college and married, you and the wife retired and traveled as long as you were both health.

However, in spite of doing it all so right, your health finally failed and you died.

You lost your soul because, even while you were gaining the whole world, you failed to know and trust and worship and serve and love God. The bottom line is that your life was a failure. You missed the whole point!

Would you like to know what you will have to do to save your soul? Would you like to know what you need to do to go to heaven when your life here upon this earth is over?
