Blind Followers of Blind Leaders

In Matthew 15:13, 14, our Lord said, "Every plant which my heavenly father hath not planted shall be rooted up. Let them alone, they be blind teachers of the blind, and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

Here our Lord is talking about religious organizations and those who teach false doctrines and are leading people astray.

In 2 Peter 2:1, Peter wrote these words: "But there were false prophets also among the people even as there shall be false teachers among you who privily shall bring in damnable heresies even denying the Lord that bought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction, and many shall follow there pernicious ways by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."

And again, in 1 John 4:1, the apostle John said, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

And in Mark 7:7, our Lord said, "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men."

From the scriptures that I have quoted, we can plainly see that the Bible tells us that there are false religions and there are false teachers in the world today. We know this by what they preach and practice in their religion.

So now I must ask you, "Are you teaching false religion? Are you a blind follower of a blind leader?"

I sincerely hope not. I invite you to read future articles that I shall write in an effort to show you that you may be following blind leaders which will cause you both to fall into the ditch as the Lord has said.
