Matthew 15:14

Christ, speaking to those around him, said: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). Christ was telling them that they should always put God's first above all things on this earth.

The majority of people on this earth are not interested in doing this. One reason is that people are just too busy trying to accumulate worldly things and too busy entertaining themselves and being entertained. The pleasures of this life are more important to them.

The wisest man who ever lived, Solomon, had this problem. In the book of Ecclesiastes we read his words: "I made me great works, I builded me houses, I planted me vineyards, I made me gardens and orchards, I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit, I made me pools of water to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees, I got me servants and maidens and had servants born in my houses, also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me." He goes on to tell of other things that he accumulated and he said, "And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced in all my labour and this was my portion of all my labour." Doesn't his sound like us today?

And then he said, "Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and behold all was vanity and vexation of spirit (a striving after wind) and there was no profit under the sun."

Solomon came to himself. He finally realized that there were other things more important than worldly possessions and the pleasures of this life. He realized that serving God was the most important thing a person can do in this life. To sum it up, he said, "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man" (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Do you fear God? Are you keeping His commandments? Are you trying to keep His commandments? Do you know what His commandments are? Would you like to know what His commandments are?

I would urge you to do as Christ has said. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God." I would also urge you to be aware of false teachers because you could become a BLIND FOLLOWER OF BLIND LEADERS.
